![]() ![]() I knew from the time she was basically a newborn, that I was going to do the 3-4 day potty training weekend bootcamp. So, now that it was time, I was excited and hopeful for our impending success. Back when Layla was a baby and spent several hours a day nursing (picture lots of one handed phone googling), and I was a new and anxious mom, I had googled potty training in an effort to be prepared. Over the course of the week, I read up, again, on various potty training methods and tips. Layla (my daughter) had been showing some interest in potty related things, so I decided we would give it a go over the next weekend. We were running out of diapers and summer was coming to a close. You see, we had tried potty training a few months earlier with less than stellar results. “Mommy, I go pee in the potty!” she exclaims. After a few minutes of tickling and calling her name, her eyes pop open and she’s so awake you’d never had known she was fast asleep only minutes earlier. ![]() Somehow, my daughter stays blissfully asleep throughout my not-so-subtle prodding of the bed. I frantically start to feel the bed for wet spots, and sigh in relief when I find none. Of course, I had just changed those sheets, that’s murphy’s law for you. Her pants and diaper are tossed haphazardly in the corner. Imagine my surprise, when upon walking into my 2.5 year old (un-potty trained) daughters room to wake her from her nap, I find her passed out, and naked from the waist down. ![]()
